Jewellery Care

Tips on caring for jewelry

We hand make all of our jewellery using solid precious metals and we do not plate our designs.

It is important that you take special care when wearing your fine jewellery.

We advise you to take good care of your jewellery by following the advice as below

When you wash your hands remove your rings as particles from soaps may become lodged in the gaps.

Avoid any kind of contact with bleach or cleaning products and never wear jewellery when swimming

Prevent your jewellery from coming into contact with hair spray, deodorants and perfumes as it can casue the jeweller to  tarnish, discolour and possibly corrode

Clean your jewellery  on a regular basis

Gold, platinum and palladium jewellery can be washed very carefully with a very soft toothbrush and warm water

Sterling silver jewellery should be rubbed very gently then rinsed and dried using a very soft cloth.

To brighten up your silver pieces we recommend using a silver dip solution.

Always ensure you clean your item after silver dipping, with warm soapy water and a soft toothbrush.

Gem stones simply wipe them down with a clean and moist cloth.Soft gemstone jewellery - such as any piece of jewellery made with emerald, pearl, opal, moonstone, labradorite, amazonite, coral, turquoise and any porous gemstones or any gemstone with a sure hardness under 7 - is of a more delicate nature and therefore requires special care.

Clean your soft gemstone jewellery using our jewellery cloth designed for dry use.

We advise that you do not leave this type of jewellery in direct sunlight, dry heat or overly humid conditions and avoid getting it wet.

Leather Jewellery

When leather jewelry is exposed to rain or water it loses its charm. It is better to avoid wearing leather jewelry when the weather conditions are not good.

While handling the leather jewelry, our hands must be clean as well as dry.

You may notice some slight variation in tones to your leather however this is to be expected with a natural product

To clean ,pat down the leather with a damp cloth. Avoid using a wet cloth or immersing the leather in water.

Put a small dab of mild, moisturizing hand soap or leather cleaner on the cloth on both sides.

Rinse and dampen the cloth with clean water and wipe the leather clean and dry

We recommend storing your jewellery in a zip lock bag as exposure to the air and environment can cause your jewellery to tarnish over time.

Store your jewellery separately, so that they don’t tangle or rub and scratch against each other.

Do not store jewellery next to heating vents, windowsills or in the bathroom. Damp and hot condition will cause the jewellery to tarnish.
